Why patients fly to India

A broad choice of specialist hospitals—with a written plan before travel.

India has large multi-speciality and super-speciality hospitals across cardiac care, cancer, transplants, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and other complex fields. CureYatra compares institutions against the needs of the individual case.

  • Hospital and doctor availability checked against the actual diagnosis and requested travel window.
  • Current JCI or NABH accreditation verified before a hospital is proposed.
  • Transparent written estimates before you travel. You pay the hospital directly.
  • Language support arranged according to the patient’s confirmed requirement.
  • A named coordinator and escalation email for the agreed service period.
Case firstThe diagnosis and treating team determine the hospital shortlist.
2–3 optionsWhere clinically appropriate and available, alternatives are presented side by side.
Written scopeIncluded and excluded hospital charges are identified before travel.
Visa checkRules are confirmed on the official portal for the patient’s nationality and route.
Patient choiceNo booking proceeds until the patient accepts the hospital’s plan and estimate.
Direct billingThe patient pays the hospital, not CureYatra, for medical treatment.

Understand the estimate

Compare scope, assumptions and exclusions—not a headline price.

The selected hospital issues the medical estimate after specialist review. A useful comparison separates what is included from what can change.

What the hospital commits toWhat can moveWhat you budget separately

Included medical scope

  • Surgeon, anaesthesia and consultation fees
  • Room category for a stated number of days
  • Named procedure, protocol or cycles
  • Routine diagnostics, medicines and consumables

Variables to have quantified

  • Implants, and the specific brand assumed
  • ICU escalation and days beyond the stated stay
  • High-cost drugs, blood products and antibiotics
  • Complication management and re-admission

Outside the hospital estimate

  • Flights, and travel for every companion
  • Accommodation, food and local transport
  • Interpreters and other third-party charges
  • Medicines dispensed after discharge, at home

Band widths above are illustrative of structure, not of price. They do not represent a proportion of any bill — the actual split differs by diagnosis, hospital and case. CureYatra publishes no figures; the treating hospital issues the estimate after specialist review. Confirm the clinical plan, estimate and payment instructions directly with the selected hospital before transferring any money, and pay that hospital against its own invoice.

Any early figure is indicative until the treating hospital reviews the case and issues its written estimate.

Hospitals that may be considered

Compare suitable hospitals by city and clinical programme.

These are established Indian hospitals a patient may consider. Listing here is not a partnership claim, an endorsement, or a guarantee of admission; the final shortlist depends on diagnosis, doctor availability, accreditation and budget.

Questions patients ask first

Before you decide.

How much will my treatment cost?
Only the treating hospital can issue the final estimate. It depends on diagnosis, procedure, implant or medicine requirements, room category and expected stay. CureYatra asks for included items, exclusions and assumptions in writing before travel.
How fast can I get a medical visa?
Processing time and eligibility vary by nationality, passport and application route. We provide the hospital documentation available for the case and guide you to the official Indian Visa portal, but neither CureYatra nor a hospital can guarantee approval or timing.
Which countries do you serve?
Patients from Nepal travel to India without a visa and have a dedicated Nepal patient guide with entry-document checks, Nepali-language coordination and the NPR 5,000 fee terms, plus cancer treatment cost, kidney transplant and travel-document guides written for Nepal. We also assist patients from Bangladesh, the Gulf (Oman, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Yemen), East & West Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ethiopia), Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan), Afghanistan, Maldives, Myanmar and the CIS — see all 66 country guides.
Will language be a problem?
Language needs are recorded at enquiry. CureYatra confirms whether the hospital or an independent interpreter can support the required language before the relevant appointment; availability is not assumed.
How do I pay? Is insurance accepted?
Medical charges are paid directly to the selected hospital by a method the hospital confirms in writing. Insurance acceptance requires prior authorisation from both the insurer and hospital; it is never assumed from the hospital name alone.
How long will I need to stay in India?
The treating team decides this after reviewing the case. The written plan should distinguish expected hospital days from recovery near the hospital and state when fit-to-fly clearance may be considered.
How is hospital quality checked?
We verify the selected facility’s current accreditation in the relevant official directory, confirm the doctor through the hospital, and share those details before the patient chooses. Accreditation supports quality systems but cannot guarantee an individual outcome.
Where are the service terms for my country?
Open your country guide for the current case-coordination terms. Medical charges remain separate and are paid directly to the selected hospital under its written estimate.
