Hanoi to India · country planning brief
From Hanoi: a country-specific route to specialist care in India.
For a family in Vietnam, the first useful comparison is not a list of hospital names. It is a documented match between the diagnosis, the required specialty, the correct Indian city and the official travel route.
Check current e-Medical eligibility for the traveller’s passport on India Visa Online. If e-Medical is unavailable, follow the regular Medical Visa instructions of the Indian Mission responsible for Vietnam.
Hành trình đến sức khỏe tốt hơn. Interpreter availability is confirmed before the relevant appointment, not assumed after arrival.
Other case-dependent options include Kolkata for eastern access and Chennai for transplant and complex surgery. The shortlist follows specialty depth, acceptance and written estimate.
The first clinical file

- Cancer fileHistopathology, immunohistochemistry, PET/CT or MRI reports, treatment history and current medicines.

Evidence basis: WHO Global Health Estimates 2021 and IARC GLOBOCAN 2024, reviewed 5 August 2026. Population data informs record preparation; it never diagnoses an individual or establishes a need to travel.
India medical travel · Vietnam
Four checks before you book treatment travel.
The correct route depends on the traveller’s passport, residence and current Government of India rules. Use official channels only; CureYatra organises the hospital documents but cannot issue or guarantee a visa.
Obtain the hospital’s written clinical response, estimate and invitation or appointment letter before making a visa application.
Check India Visa Online to determine whether the traveller must use e-Medical, regular/paper Medical Visa or an applicable exemption.
If a visa is required, complete the official form and follow the document, appointment and submission instructions of the Indian Mission responsible for Vietnam.
Check category, validity, entries, attendant conditions and arrival airport. Eligible foreign travellers can complete the free e-Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival; it is not a visa.
Rules and eligibility can change. The Government of India portal and the relevant Indian Mission remain authoritative for every named traveller.
The journey from Vietnam
Serious medicine, a short trip away.
For advanced super-speciality care — complex cardiac surgery, cancer programmes, living-donor transplants, neurosurgery — Vietnamese families increasingly look to India: accredited hospitals, without an assumed waiting-time promise, and written hospital estimates that can be assessed before travel. CureYatra turns that journey into a plan.
- The visa category, eligibility, validity and attendant rules are checked on the official Indian Visa portal for the patient’s passport; no approval or processing time is guaranteed.
- Direct flights link Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Delhi and Mumbai.
- Cards and bank transfers are straightforward; your written hospital estimate arrives before you book anything.
- Vietnamese interpreter availability is confirmed before consultations, and document-language needs are reviewed before hospital submission.
- One coordinator from airport pickup to fit-to-fly clearance — and video follow-up with your treating doctor after you are home in Vietnam.

Planning that starts in Vietnam—not at the airport.
Vietnamese patients may need Vietnamese interpretation and English preparation of clinical records. We focus the comparison on the specialist programme, total expected stay and follow-up after return.
No CureYatra fee is payable before hospital review. INR 5,000 becomes payable only after the patient accepts a hospital appointment and before travel to India. View the full scope, timing and exclusions.
Hanoi / HCMC→India direct — Getting here. Schedules and transit requirements can change, so the final itinerary is confirmed only after the hospital accepts the case and the patient is fit to travel.
Vietnamese support — Language support. Scans, pathology, prescriptions and discharge notes are organised into one dated file before they are shared with a hospital.

Prepare the right records for the condition—not a generic file.
These checklists translate the country evidence into a useful first specialist review. They do not imply that treatment abroad is required.
CT or MRI images, stroke timeline, vascular and cardiac tests, rehabilitation notes and current medicines.
Pathology, immunohistochemistry, staging scans, treatment history and the latest oncology note.
ECG, echocardiogram, angiogram images, cardiac blood tests and the cardiologist’s latest advice.
Pulmonary-function tests, chest imaging, oxygen history, admission summaries and inhaler or medicine list.
HbA1c trend, glucose log, kidney and eye screening, medicine list and complication history.
Population-level estimates describe health burden; they do not diagnose a person, predict an outcome or establish a need to travel. WHO estimates are modelled and rounded here for readability. IARC cancer values are modelled estimates. A treating specialist must review the patient’s own records before any medical or travel decision.
What the evidence means · Viet Nam
Use national context to prepare better questions—not to self-diagnose.
Within a consistent set of clinically distinct causes, WHO’s latest country estimates place Stroke, Cancer and Ischaemic heart disease at the front of Viet Nam’s health profile. The estimates are approximately 165,000 deaths, 117,000 deaths and 64,600 deaths in 2021 respectively. They show population burden, not what any individual patient needs.
IARC’s GLOBOCAN 2024 profile estimates 177,404 new cancer cases and 111,015 cancer deaths; Breast, Lung and Colorectum lead by estimated new-case count. For a treatment enquiry, send the diagnosis, dated reports, original images and current medicines first; hospital specialists decide suitability, timing and the written estimate.
Primary evidence: WHO Global Health Estimates 2021 and IARC GLOBOCAN 2024, reviewed 5 August 2026. Estimates are population-level context only.
